Can U actually post the price? I've seen 735 for just below 3000 and Elite at 6000$. Both 70". Still don't see how Elite can be twice as much expensive

$6K would actually be a helluva deal (for now) on the 70" Elite and worth it for what's been proclaimed as the best panel in the marketplace and it's target audience which demands the best but with patience I think we'll see Sharp restructuring that pricing in 2012 as the entire market drops and Sharp has gotten it's R&D paid for and OLED finally arrives in 55" sizes via rumored Samsung and perhaps LG and who knows there could be others and the pricing at this point is unknown.
Were you to place the Elite side by side with the 735 it would easily beat it's ass in virtually every type of cross comparison and while I'm not attacking the 735 series it is the standard Camaro whereas the Elite is the Corvette ZL1 and it costs are 2-3 times the standard Camaro. I agree though that pricing will be restructured in the future by Sharp as they've done it in the past with their high end models, likely to occur after CES and new 2012 Sharp models debut in the spring.
If you want to check out actual quotes or inquiries they are allowed to identify them over on ************** forum - Wow can't figure out why another similar forum would be blocked? My target for the 70" Elite is $5K as I made the mistake of buying the 60" D8000 Samsung though for a third of the price it's screen uniformity and black levels are a fraud with the lights out and 60" is too damn small for me - while saving all that money felt good initially I have to report that I find the panel a huge disappointment every day (especially at night with the lights off) I view it even though it's thin as hell and stylish it cannot compare to the 70" Elite. For now I must live with my mistake buying the Samsung since in-store auditions in normal lighting disguises the black levels and light bleed issues but when it's in your HT and you turn off the lights at night exposes microdimming as a huge fraud!
Any chance next year Sharp will "bridge the gap" between the 735 and Elite? Would love to see a 70" with 90-95% the Elite quality for around $4000-4500.

On Black Friday I negotiated with the rep at Best Buy/Magnolia on the 70" and was able to get them down to $6570. They did this by utilizing a preferred customer 10% discount card on the sale price. I passed as I'm not in any rush for it right now, and I'm thinking the price will come down lower by Christmas or Superbowl at the latest.
The best I've been able to get so far is $6000.00 delivered for a black friday deal. If anyone is intrested PM me and I'll give you the info on where I got the offer from. I'm still holding out I feel it will be $5500.00 or less soon enough.
EastCoast is not an authorized retailer for anything they sell which can allow a manufacturer to refuse servicing if they so choose. ECTV also has restocking fees and do not accept returns on "large Tvs" with return shipping on your dime. If you read the Elite owners thread the last thing you want is a hassle on a 6500 dollar tv (which one owners is already currently experiencing), not to mention a restocking fee.

There is supposed to be a new Sharp top of the line 925/935 series that will have both full array and local dimming like the Elite line. Might not have as nice a picture as the Elite, but will be pretty darn close. Probably around $3500-4000 MSRP.

Amazon’s merchant “Bargain Bonanzaa” has the 70" for $5799.99. Did anyone pay lower than that? I’m still waiting below the $5500 mark and hopefully it will get there soon.

Wow, you would chance such a large purchase on a seller with only 88% positive feedback? I would wait for one of them to sell with Amazon Fulfillment protection or look somewhere else.
These prices are declining very quickly. I woundn't be suprised if it will be at 5500.00 by xmas. That was the number I was waiting for but now I wonder if lower than that is only a few months away.

I'm assuming you meant to say Camaro ZL1 rather than Corvette, because there is no such thing as a Corvette ZL1. It is either Camaro ZL1 or Corvette ZR1.
I was quoted a price of 6500 for the 70 and 1600 on a B&W Panorama Soundbar (it retails for 2200) from BBY/MHT. This was on Tuesday when the lowest price on Amazon was 6500 from an unauthorized reseller. My wife and I are looking to purchase this set as my our 151 was damaged by our little one. There is one place that has a lower price on the set itself and is authorized but I'd rather have piece of mind in knowing I have someone local I can deal with and a liberal return/exchange policy... 36 Months interest free financing doesn't hurt either

You can always try to negotiate a better price with Best Buy. That's what I did. Also, if you don't need to finance, you can choose 4% RewardZone (I did, over the normal 2%) instead of 0% financing.

How were you able to get best buy down to the $6500 range (what was your reasoning/tactics). I went in to MHT stores this week and they wouldn't budge. Even tried to show them pricing on Amazon resellers and wouldn't match.
