There maybe a setting on the JBL for the indicator to go away after a timeout, what normally should happen to everything else I've seen.

 

This just started happening to me. Worked flawless for nearly a year. Now the volume display won't go away. Also note: mute seems to be "temporary". Muting via AmazonTV remote works for about 10sec then unmutes itself.

 

Factory reset on the soundbar and TV reboot didn't help. Saw some other posts about firmware updates. Will try that next.

 

I am having the same issue with JBL 5.1 Bar and Amazon Toshiba 43 Fire TV, did you ever solve this?

 

Same issue here as well. JBL 5.1 Surround with an Fire TV enabled Insignia tv. If anyone solves this issue please share.

 

Having the same issue with the JBL 5.1 and new Pioneer 50” Amazon Fire TV.

HOWEVER, I found that by turning the soundbar on first with the JBL remote, and then turning the TV on shortly after with the TV remote, the volume indicator disappears and I can go back to using the TV remote for volume and even turning it off. This is absolutely not ideal and will be contacting JBL to see why this is happening, but at least I got the volume bar to disappear.


Anyone else able to solve this issue!?

I’m having the same issue and I just purchased my JBL 5.1. So are you not able to use your sound bar at all or do you just leave it on a preset volume

 

If you use the optical cable that comes with your soundbar, instead of the HDMI, there is no problem!

 

I had a similar issue, found it was caused by the HDMI connection from my Xbox, turned off the CEC option in the Xbox settings and now appears resolved

 

You have to go to settings in your tv. Go to Audio control and scroll until you find "remote control" off/on for attached devices and turn it off. 2025 58" Insignia 4k Smart Fire TV and the JBL 5.1 soundbar with wireless subwoofer. Works.

 

Thanks! I have the same set up. For me it was under equipment control in settings, then soundbar, power controls, power control to off.

 

Okay so the on/off for remote control only fixed the issue for a day. So I switched from HDMI cord to digital optical cord. Then re-set up my sound bar to the tv (might not have been needed but just in case). Issue is totally resolved this time! Volume display is only on sound bar and not tv now.
